Trivandrum: Testhouse, a software testing and QA company based in Technopark, Trivandrum, got global recognition when it was invited to play an integral role at the recent launch of Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 at Dubai, earlier this month.

Organised by Microsoft Gulf and MEA (Middle East and Africa), the full day event had over 200 companies from UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, being represented by their senior level executives.

This regional launch was the second one worldwide after the initial launch in New York on November 13, with over 8,000 people connected online from Pakistan to South Africa. The presence of a very senior team from Microsoft including Soma Somasegar, Microsoft Corporate VP, Developer Division; Mitra Azzizirad, GM, Developer Tools Marketing & Sales; Aaron Bjrok and Luke Hoban, Visual Studio core product team, added to the significance of this event.

It was during his session on ‘Agile Testing through Quality Enablement’ that Jihad Dannawi, ALM Sales Specialist from Microsoft, invited Vijay Kumar, CEO of Testhouse Middle East & India, along with Divakar Kini, VP for Architecture & Control, Emirates NBD, to share their recent engagement experience.

Divakar explained the challenge faced by the bank, where it was becoming increasingly unviable to solely pursue manual testing each time there was an update in their Finacle Core Banking application. The earlier attempts at automation using other tools had not met with the desired result. Later Vijay explained how Testhouse met the requirement by successfully building regression packs for automation using Visual Studio and also shared details of how the same tool was used further to do Performance testing on a Siebel CRM application at the Bank.

Speaking after the event, Jihad said, “It was a pleasure to have Testhouse with us during this regional launch. Testhouse is our key Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) partner with a very strong focus on the testing capabilities and automation. Most of our great ALM stories were delivered by Testhouse, making them the only partner company to be invited on stage for this event”.

Headquartered in London, Testhouse has offices in Spain, US, UAE and India, and is a Gold ALM partner of Microsoft.
