HCL launches exclusive tablet ‘ME Champ’ for kids

New Delhi: HCL Infosystems, a leading Services and ICT Systems Integration, Distribution and Hardware Company, has launched its new tablet ‘ME Champ’ exclusively targeted at kids between 3 to 12 years of age.

ME Champ enhances the learning experience of Champs, with rich infotainment content across various categories like Games, Education, Books & TV, taking learning and play to the next level. The product accentuates a unique graphic design with a colourful UI that allures kids in fun learning and enhances cognitive abilities. The HCL ME Champ tablet is priced at Rs 7,999.

The ME Champ tablet comes with tracking features, a control mechanism to help parents monitor their child’s activities and an Application Manager that offers parents the ability to select apps and restrict tablet use duration for kids access. The tablet can be operated in two modes – Parent mode (where the tablet functions as a normal device) and Kids Mode (in which parents can define the content the kids can access).

The new HCL ME Champ Tab offers 3G connectivity through USB datacard. Based on the fast Android OS 4.1 (Jelly Bean), the device is equipped with a 2-mega pixel back camera and a 0.3-mega pixel front camera which enables video chatting. The tablet supports a 7-inch multi touch capacitive screen with 800 x 480 pixel display. The tablet is designed with a special Graphics Processor – Mali-400 GPU and 3D Graphics Processing and also it runs smoothly on a powerful Cortex A9 1 Ghz processor. It comes with a 1 GB RAM memory and 4 GB internal memory, along with a memory card slot that can add another 32 GB powered with a 3100 mAh battery. The ME Champ has a Micro USB port and also supports Wi-Fi connectivity.
